[Google Analytics]

I'm trying out using Google Analytics on this site, to better help understand traffic patterns. It looks good so far, but I'll see how it performs once I start seeing results.

It works by referencing a javascript file on "www.google-analytics.com".

However, there does seem to be some privacy concerns already cropping up amongst surfers. If you use Firefox, and don't want to be tracked, use the adblock extension.

Here's how:

  1. Install the adblock extension.
  2. Close all instances of Firefox, and restart it.
  3. Go to Tools->AdBlock. Select preferences.
  4. In the "New Filter" add "http://www.google-analytics.com/*" (without quotes). And click the New button. Click the Done button when you are all done.
  5. Make sure "Site Blocking" is enabled in the options menu.
  6. In the preferences window, enable the "Enable Adblock".
